 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1875 in Paris von Alfred Nobel als Société Générale pour la fabrication des dynamites Nobel gegründet. Ab 1886 belieferte sie die Panama Canal Gesellschaft von Ferdinand de Lesseps mit Sprengstoff. 1927 erwarb die Firma die Société Générale de Dynamite und firmierte fortan als Société Nobel française, 1957 fusionierte die Gesellschaft mit Bozel-Malétra zu Nobel-Bozel.

 The company was founded in Paris as Société Générale pour la fabrication des dynamites Nobel by Alfred Nobel in 1875. It supplied explosives to Ferdinand de Lesseps' Panama Canal Company from 1886 on. In 1927, it acquired the Société Générale de Dynamite, and was renamed as Société Nobel française in 1927. It merged with Bozel-Malétra in 1957 to form Nobel-Bozel.
