Die Post Office Cash Certificates wurden eingeführt um Sparer zum anlegen kleiner Beträge zu ermuntern. Erstmals wurden diese Zertifikate während des Ersten Weltkrieges 1917 aufgelegt, um so die hohen Rüstungsausgaben zu finanzieren. Auch in den folgenden Jahrzehnten wurden diese Papiere noch ausgegeben. Alle Cash Certificates wurden von der India Security Press auf Sicherheitspapier mit Wasserzeichen gedruckt. | |||

The Post Office Cash Certificates were issued to encourage savers to invest small amounts of money. During World War I in the year 1917 the certificates were offered for the first time to finance the high military expenses. The certificates were also offered in the following decades. All Cash Certificates were printed on security paper with watermark by the India Security Press. | |||
