 Henry Percival "Percy" Bulmer gründete die Firma 1887 in Hereford, England. Er befolgte damals den Rat seiner Mutter, eine Karriere im Bereich der Nahrungsmittel anzustreben, denn die wären nie "aus der Mode". Heute hat das Unternehmen eine breite Palette an Cidermarken im Angebot, von denen Bulmers und Strongbow die wohl bekanntesten sind. Mit einem Marktanteil von fast 50 Prozent ist H.P. Bulmer der größte Cider-Hersteller im Vereinigten Königreich und - da das Getränk überwiegend aus Großbritannien kommt - auch der größte weltweit. Heute gehört Bulmer zur Heineken-Gruppe.

 In 1887, the company was founded by Henry Percival "Percy" Bulmer in Hereford, England, as he took his mother's advice to make a career in food or drink, "because neither ever go out of fashion". Today it produces a range of branded and private label ciders, its two principal brands are Bulmers and Strongbow. With almost half the market H.P. Bulmer is the largest cider manufacturer in the UK and, since cider is a peculiarly British drink, also the largest in the world. Now, the company is owned by Heineken International.
