 Die Gesellschaft wurde 1870 gegründet und eröffnete im gleichen Jahr ihre erste Linie. Sie betrieb zwei Linien im Norden und Süden der Stadt. 1896 wurde die Gesellschaft von der North British Railway Company übernommen.
