 Die 1850 konzessionierte Gesellschaft erhielt vom Kongress umfangreiche Ländereien. Bedingung war allerdings, dass sie die mehr als 700 Meilen lange Strecke in sechs Jahren fertig stellt, was auch gelang.

 The company got its concession in 1850. It was granted huge estates by the Congress. But there was the requirement, that the more than 700 miles or railway track was finished within six years. The company hit this goal.
