Die Ursprünge der Bank liegen in der 1817 in Paris von James de Rothschild (Sohn von Mayer Amschel Rothschild) gegründeten Bank NM de Rothschild Fréres. 1982 wurde die Bank als Compagnie européenne de Banque verstaatlicht. Nach einem Verkauf an die Crédit commercial de France und an Barclays wurde die Bank 1991 aufgelöst.
The routs of the bank go back to the bank NM de Rothschild Fréres, which was founded in Paris by James de Rothschild (son of Mayer Amschel Rothschild) in 1817. The bank was nationalized as Compagnie européenne de Banque in 1982. Later it was sold to Crédit commercial de France, and Barclays, and finally liquidated in 1991.
