 Alexander Crombie Humphreys (1851 - 1927) war der zweite Präsident des Stevens Institute of Technology, einer privaten koedukativen Forschungsuniversität in Hoboken, New Jersey. Deren Gründung geht auf das Vermächtnis des 1868 verstorbenen Edwin Augustus Stevens zurück. Das Institut wurde 1870 eingetragen und ist damit einer der ältesten technischen Universitäten in den USA. Zudem war sie die erste, die sich allein dem Maschinenbau widmete.

 Alexander Crombie Humphreys (1851 - 1927) was the 2nd President of the Stevens Institute of Technology, a private, coeducational research university located in Hoboken, New Jersey. Founded from an 1868 bequest from Edwin Augustus Stevens and incorporated in 1870, the institute is one of the oldest technological universities in the United States. Further it was the first college in America solely dedicated to mechanical engineering.
