 Die Bahn wurde 1853 als Alexandria, Loudon & Hampshire Railroad gegründet. Sie baute und betrieb die 235 Meilen lange Strecke von Alexandria nach Mount Pleasant. 1882 und 1883 ging die Bahn wieder in Konkurs.

 The railway company was founded under the name Alexandria, Loudon & Hampshire Railroad in 1853. It built and operated 235 miles of railway track between Alexandria and Mount Pleasant. It went bankrupt in 1882 and 1883.
