 Der Independent Order of Odd Fellows (kurz: Odd Fellows) ist ein international tätiger, humanitärer und philanthropischer weltlicher Orden – ähnlich den Freimaurern. Die ersten Logen entstanden im 18. Jahrhundert in England. In den ersten Jahren des 19. Jahrhunderts gründeten einige Auswanderer dann auch in Nordamerika erste Logen – so z.B. in New York und Baltimore. Die erste Loge in Kansas entstand 1857 in Tecumseh. Nach dem Bürgerkrieg stiegen die Mitgliederzahlen schnell an. Zwischen 1906 und 1910 soll der Orden um ein ganzes Drittel gewachsen sein – vielleicht ja auch auf Grund der gebauten Odd Fellows Hall.
Factos históricos (Inglês)
 The Independent Order of Odd Fellows originated in England in the 18th century. In the first decades some English guys founded lodges in New York and Baltimore. The first Odd Fellows lodge in Kansas was organized at Tecumseh in 1857. After the Civil war the number of members was increasing steadily. The order has increased about one-third of its membership during the five years from 1906 to 1910 – maybe caused by building the Odd Fellows Hall some years before.
