 Zunächst war eine insgesamt 500 Meilen lange Bahnstrecke von Red River in Arkansas bis nach Rio Grande in Mexiko geplant. Als erstes ging das rund 100 Meilen lange Teilstück von Hearne nach Galveston (Texas) in Betrieb. Später wurde die Firma Opfer des Spekulanten Jay Gould.

 It was planned to build 500 miles or railway track between Red River in Arkansas to Rio Grande in Mexico. The 100 miles long segment between Hearne to Galveston (Texas) was opened at first. The company became a victim of the speculations of Jay Gould later.
