 Das Unternehmen ist der zweitgrößte Baumaschinenhersteller der Welt. Es wurde 1921 gegründet und war lange Zeit mehr oder weniger nur in Asien präsent. Erst durch die Übernahme verschiedener kleiner europäischer Produzenten, wie in Deutschland z. B. Hanomag oder der Hydraulikbagger-Sparte von Demag, konnte Komatsu ab den 1990ern auch in Europa größere Marktanteile erringen.
Factos históricos (Inglês)
 Komatsu is the world's second largest manufacturer of construction equipment. Founded in 1921, the company was operating mainly in Asia and not quite present in other parts of the world. This changed in the 1990s, when Komatsu took over several European producers, like Hanomag or the hydraulic excavators division of Demag in Germany. Since then the company gained high market shares even there.
