Die Strand Bridge war ein Projekt des großen englischen Brückenbauers John Rennie. Sie wurde in den Jahren 1811 bis 1813 erbaut und galt ihrerzeit als die größte und schönste Brücke über die Themse. In Erinnerung an die siegreiche Schlacht gegen Napoleon wurde die Strand Bridge wurde von den Engländern in Waterloo Bridge umgetauft. In der Folge wurden sie mehrfach restauriert und steht noch heute auf ihrem ursprünglichen Platz in London. | |||

The Strand Bridge was a project of the great English bridge constructor John Rennie. It was built in the years from 1811 to 1813 and was considered to be the largest and most beautiful bridge over the river Thames. The Strand Bridge was renamed Waterloo Bridge by the English in memory of the victorious battle against Napoleon. Later on it was restored a couple of times and today it is still situated on its original place in London. | |||
