 Das Perpetuum Mobile forderte immer wieder Wissenschaftler, Ingenieure und Bastler heraus. Es musste doch gelingen, einen Motor zu bauen, der, einmal in Betrieb gesetzt, aus eigenem Antrieb bis in alle Ewigkeit von alleine weiter lief. Schlagartig wären alle Energieprobleme gelöst und der Erbauer ein berühmter und reicher Mann. Tüftler und Unentwegte träumen bis heute diesen Traum. Als Historisches Wertpapier kennt man den sehr seltenen Anteilsschein des Kraft-Maschinen-Wagens, der in Augsburg von einem gewissen Franz Gustav Wolff konstruiert werden sollte. Der hier angebotene Titel dürfte ebenso rar sein, auch wenn er aus späterer Zeit stammt. Schon der lange Name lädt zum Sinnieren ein: „Le Moteur Automatique; Nouvelle Machine, force à volonté de I à 50.000 chevaux, supprimant tous combustibles, etc. Applicable soit à la Navigation, soit à toutes les Tractions Mobiles et Industrielles, et Machines fixes“. Der Anteil wurde in Asnières (in der Nähe von Nantes) ausgegeben. Er ist ohne Nennwert, aber gemäß rückseitigem Statutenauszug besaß das Papier einen geschätzten Wert von 50 Francs. Wahrlich ein bescheidener Glücksritter-Einsatz für diese weltbewegende Wundermaschine, die ohne Treibstoffverbrauch bis zu 50.000 PS (= ca. 36.800 kW) leisten sollte.

 Again and again the perpetuum mobile challenged scientists, engineers and tinkerers. There had to be a way to build a motor that, once started, would continue to run on its own until eternity. With one strike all the energy problems would be resolved and the constructer would be a famous and wealthy person. Puzzlers and the unswerving still dream this dream today. The very rare share certificate for the power engine car that was to be built by one Franz Gustav Wolff in Augsburg is known as HWP. The title offered here should be just as unusual, although it originates from a later time. The name already is an invitation to ponder: "Le Moteur Automatique; Nouvelle Machine, force à volonté de I à 50.000 chevaux, supprimant tous combustibles, etc. Applicable soit à la Navigation, soit à toutes les Tractions Mobiles et Industrielles, et Machines fixes". The share was distributed at Asnières (near Nantes). It is without denomination, but according to the excerpts of the statutes on the back the paper held an estimated value of 50 francs. Truly a modest bid for this worldshaking miracle engine that supposedly would deliver up to 50,000 PS (= ca. 36.800 kW) without fuel consumption.
