| Die Gesellschaft wurde 1844 von Jacob Best gegründet. Allerdings erst sein Sohn Philipp baute die Firma zu einem florierenden Unternehmen aus. 1864 traten Frederick Pabst und Emil Schandein in die Firma ein. Die junge Generation arbeitete sehr fleißig, so dass Best sich aus der Firma zurückzog. Von 1864 bis 1889 stieg der Bierausstoß um mehr als das Hundertfache. Im laufe der Zeit fielen immer größere Teile des Kapitals in die Hände von Frederick Pabst, so dass die Firma 1889 in Pabst Brewing Company umbenannt wurde. Das Kapital kletterte von 300.000 Dollar auf zehn Millionen Dollar und die Gesellschaft wurde zur größten Brauerei der Vereinigten Staaten. | ||||
| Original signature of Emil Schandein as president. The share is issued to Fred Papst, who signed on the reverse as well. The company was founded by Jacob Best in 1844. It was his son Philipp though who extended the firm to a flourishing enterprise. Frederick Pabst and Emil Schandein joined the firm in 1864. The young generation worked very diligently, so that Best withdrew himself from the firm. In the course of time, continuously growing sections of the capital fell in the hands of Frederick Pabst, which led to the renaming of the firm to Pabst Brewing Company in 1889. The capital climbed from 300.000 dollars to ten million dollars and in this way the company became the largest brewing company of the United States of America. | ||||
