| David Dunbar Buick (1854 - 1929) begründete die Buick Motor Car Company. 1908 schloss sich Buick der General Motors-Gruppe um W. C. Durant an, nachdem Durant bereits seit 1904 Anteilseigner bei Buick war. Mit dem Erlös aus seiner Autofirma versuchte Buick sein Glück in der Ölindustrie. Hier hatte er jedoch keinen Erfolg. Bei seinem Tod 1929 war Buick schließlich ein armer Mann. Wynton R. Buick war der Sohn von David Dunbar Buick. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| David Dunbar Buick (1854 - 1929) established the Buick Motor Car Company. Buick joined the General Motors Group in 1908 through W. C. Durant, since Durant was already shareholder with Buick since 1904. Buick tried his luck in the oil industry with the proceeds of his car company. He had no success in this field, however.
