| Die französische Regierung beschloss am 23.07.1892 die Durchführung einer Weltausstellung in Paris im Jahr 1900. Via französischer Botschaft wurde die Schweiz am 30.09.1895 eingeladen. Bereits zwei Jahre vor der Weltausstellung, am 10.08.1898, wurde eine Gesellschaft gegründet. Zweck war die Errichtung und der Unterhalt eines Schweizer Dorfes für die Weltausstellung in Paris. | On July 23, 1892, the French government decided to conduct a world fair in Paris in 1900. Switzerland was invited via the French embassy on September 30, 1895. Two years prior to the world fair already, on August 10, 1898, a company was founded with the purpose of building and maintaining a Swiss Village for the world fair in Paris.
