| Die Gesellschaft wurde 1856 gegründet um eine Eisenbahn von Cawnpore (Knapur) nach Lucknow und weitere Linien im früheren Königreich Oudh (Uttar Pradesh, Indien) zu errichten. Als die Erdarbeiten in Cawnpore begannen, brach der Indische Aufstand von 1857 aus. Der Aufstand sowie das Ende der East India Company führten auch zum Ende der Gesellschaft. Eine spätere Eisenbahngesellschaft stellte die Linie bis Lucknow fertig. | ||||
| The company was formed in 1856. It constructed a railway line from Cawnpore (Kanpur) to Lucknow and other lines in the former Kingdom of Oude (Uttar Pradesh). Construction started on the earthworks from Cawnpore when the Indian Uprising broke out. This and the ending of the East India Company ended work in India by this company. A later railway company finished the line to Lucknow. | ||||
