| Die Anleihe war durch Land besichert. Pro Meile Streckennetz schenkte der Staat Texas der Eisenbahngesellschaft 10.240 Acres Land. Geplant war eine 50 Meilen lange Strecke von Galveston nach Houston. Neben den üppigen 8 Prozent Zinsen wurden den Anlegern noch Extras geboten: Die Anleihe sollte zu 110 Dollar zurückgezahlt werden. | The Bond was secured by land. For each mile of railway track the State of Texas granted 10,240 Acres of land to the railway company. It planned to build 50 miles of railway track from Galveston to Houston. Bond holders got a high interest rate of 8 per cent and an additional incentive: The bond should be repaid at US-Dollar 110.
