| Die Motor Traction Company 1905, Limited, wurde gegründet, um Teile der Motor Traction Company, Limited, zu übernehmen. Darüber hinaus sollte sie das Motorbus- und Transportgewerbe (u. a. mit Dampfschiffen) weiterführen - sowohl im Personen- als auch im Güterverkehr. Es wird berichtet, dass die Firma Daimler-Patente der Motor Traction Company übernahm. Die MTC war eine der wichtigen Gesellschaften in Harry J. Lawsons berüchtigtem British Motor Syndicate. Sie hielt einige britische Daimler-Patente, doch kurz nach ihrer Gründung im Jahr 1901 wurde sie bereits von der (British) Daimler Motor Company verklagt. Streitgegenstand: die Benutzung des Namens "Daimler". Sehr wahrscheinlich hat sie den Prozess verloren - zumindest wurde die Motor Traction Company im Jahr 1903 vom Obersten Gerichtshof dazu verurteilt, die Patente zu verkaufen. Irgendwie scheint man die Patente dann aber doch behalten zu haben und schaffte es, sie in die neu gegründete Motor Traction Company 1905, Limited, zu übernehmen. | ||||
| The Motor Traction Company 1905, Limited, has been registered to acquire part of the assets of the Motor Traction Company, Limited. Further it should carry on the business of omnibus, van, carriage, steamboat, and launch constructors and proprietors, carriers of passengers and goods. The company was reported to take over the license to build under the Daimler patents as this license was the property of the original Motor Traction Company, one of the component companies of Harry J. Lawson's infamous British Motor Syndicate. MTC held the rights to some British Daimler patents, but shortly after the company was founded in 1901 it was involved in a court case with the (British) Daimler Motor Company over the use of the name Daimler. Most probably the case was lost as High Court ordered them to sell the patents in 1903. Anyway they managed it to keep them and reform the company as Motor Traction Company 1905, Limited. | ||||
