| Harry Payne Whitney (1872-1930) war Bankier und Financier. Whitney war nach 1902 Partner von Daniel Guggenheim und später einer der Stifter des berühmten Whitney Museums in New York, das nach seinem Tod 1931 eröffnet wurde. Mit seiner Frau Gertrude Vanderbilt war er die bestimmende Persönlichkeit im New Yorker Kulturleben seiner Zeit. | ||||

After 1902 Whitney became the partner of Daniel Guggenheim and later-on one of the founders of the famous Whitney Museum in New York, which was inaugurated after his death in 1931.
