| Frühes Kolonialpapier, das in seiner Darstellung die Aufbruchstimmung jener Zeit widerspiegelt. Das großartige Blatt, gezeichnet von G. Bansire, gestochen von Hyot und lithographiert von Blaise, wird in der gesamten Umrahmung illustriert. Wir betrachten die Ansicht von Alger und Oran, eine wappenähnliche Darstellung mit einer Kuh und zwei Schafen, flankiert von einem Kolonilalisten mit Spaten und einem Berber mit Flinte sowie gepackte Ballen (unten). Links und rechts sehen wir säulenartige Gebilde, durch die sich Baumwoll-Gewächse emporschlingen und sich oben in Knospen und Blüten öffnen. Im oberen Rand befindet sich eine große Moschee, ein Reitertrupp und eine Karawane sowie die Darstellung eines Fabrikgeländes mit Schloten. Aus dem Wurzelwerk, das die Zeichnung nach dem Text hin abschliesst, sprießen eine Palme, Reben, Oliven und Agaven. Blindprägestempel unterhalb der Moschee. | ||||
| An early colonial paper reflecting the atmosphere of a new start of that time in its design. The fabulous sheet, drawn by G. Bansire, engraved by Hyot and lithographed by Blaise, is illustrated along the entire border. We look at a view of Algiers and Oran, an emblem-like picture of a cow and tow sheep flanked by a colonialist with a spade and a Berber with a shotgun as well as packed bales (below). To the left and to the right we see columnar structures through which cotton plants wind upwards and open into buds and flowers at the top. The upper margin displays a big mosque, a troupe of riders and a caravan as well as the representation of a factory site with chimneys. A palm tree, vines, olives and agaves sprout from the root system that completes the drawing towards the text. Raised seal below the mosque. | ||||
