| Darius Ogden Mills (1825 - 1910) ging im Zuge des Goldrausches 1849 nach Kalifornien und gründete dort die Bank D. O. Mills & Co.. 1850 wurde er Präsident der Bank of California und finanzierte später in entscheidendem Maße den Bau der Transkontinentalen Eisenbahn durch die Central Pacific Railroad. | ||||
