| Die Gesellschaft existierte von 1853 bis 1874. Danach war sie ein Teil der New Orleans, St. Louis and Chicago Railroad. Es wurde die 206 Meilen lange Strecke von New Orleans nach Canton in Missouri betrieben. Die Finanzierung der Bahn war äußerst kreativ: Die Stadt schoss Geld mit acht Prozent vor. Mit dieser Kapitalbasis konnten dann Bonds ausgegeben werden, mit denen wiederum das von der Stadt geliehene Geld zurückgezahlt wurde. Das Papier ist nicht im Cox gelistet! | ||||
