64. Auktion fur Historische Wertpapiere Teil 1 Auktion 9 September 2023

6 Dear Sir or Madam, We are proud to present a high quality scripophily offer. As done in the last auctions, we divided the auction in two parts. The first part is the 64th auction (public auction) on September 9th. It contains the lots 1 to 707. It is our goal to offer in the public auction those lots, which are intere- sting for collectors attending our live auctions. Therefore you will find many rare items in our 65th auction (online auction), too. This auction contains the lots 708 to 1,898. Please use our indices and our search engine at our web page. The web page is available in eleven languages! At the web search you can also combine your search. You can, for example, only look for items from one industry from one country. This will give you a quick overview over the items which are fitting in your collection. In our auction, we offer collectors of German stocks and bonds in particu- lar an unprecedented density of rarities. As in the 2022 autumn auction, numerous rarities from the collections of Klaus Schiefer and Prof. Dr. Eck- hardt Wanner will be offered. In addition, we have succeeded in obtaining numerous individual pieces and rarities from the 18th and 19th centuries from a long-time collector as consignments. The range of historical stocks and bonds bearing the signatures of famous personalities is also outstanding. For the first time, we are able to offer a share in our auction that has been signed by the ingenious inventor Nikola Tesla. Another very interesting security is the one of the Lehigh Coal and Navigation Company from 1962, which at first sight seems to be inconspicuous. Its value is due to its shareholder, the Buffett Partnership, as well as the signature of the Oracle of Omaha Warren Buffett on the back. While the Graham- Newman Corporation security offered eight years ago and auctioned for 35,000 euros dates back to the investment genius’ apprenticeship, this is the first time that a share signed by him from the Buffett Partnership period (1956 to 1969) has come under the hammer. During this time, Buffet achieved an annual return of 29.5 percent. In doing so, he laid the financial foundation for his entry into Berk- shire Hathaway in 1969. In order to honour the top items accordingly, we have once again created a catalogue with the 50 highlights of the auction. There, as usual, we present the papers in German and English. After the auction there will be the general assembly of the German collectors club EDHAC, and of the Museum club EDHAM. In the eve- ning we will hold a joint dinner at the Trattoria Limone. The joint din- ner starts at 7.00 p.m. If you wish to take part there, please make re- servation with our office (e-mail: auktion@hwph.de or telephone: +49-8106-246186 ). Deadline is September 4th. Have fun and good luck at finding new items for your collection!
