The company was founded in 1877 as a stock company for the promotion of horse breeding (Lótanyéstés Elekult Emelult Aszvénytár- saság). The aim was to promote domestic horse breeding through the organisation of trade fairs, exhibitions and competitions. In 1878 the company secured the right to use the City Bus Station site along Külső-Kerepesi út and hold a horse fair there. The 46,544 square meter area was located next to the Központi-Keleti railway station. Because of the company’s activities, the people of Pest soon named the area Tattersall. The first Budapest horse exhibition and auction took place from 5 - 7 May 1878. From 1893 the name was then Tat- tersall Joint Stock Company for the Promotion of Horse Breeding and from 1899 Budapesti Tattersall Joint Stock Company. The Tatter- sall still stands in its original location today. After a redesign, international equestrian events (CSIO5 Grand Pix) have been taking place again in the National Riding Hall since 2018. Die Gesellschaft wurde 1877 als Aktiengesellschaft zur Förderung der Pferdezucht (Lótanyéstés Elekult Emelult Aszvénytársaság) ge- gründet. Ziel war es die heimische Pferdezucht durch die Veranstaltung von Messen, Ausstellungen und Wettbewerben zu fördern. 1878 sicherte sich die Gesellschaft das Recht, das Gelände des Städtischen Omnibushofs entlang der Külső-Kerepesi út zu nutzen und dort eine Pferdemesse zu veranstalten. Die 46.544 Quadratmeter große Fläche befand sich neben dem Bahnhof Központi-Keleti. Auf- grund der Aktivitäten der Gesellschaft nannten die Bewohner von Pest das Gebiet bald Tattersall. Die erste Budapester Pferdeausstel- lung und –auktion fand vom 5. bis 7. Mai 1878 statt. Ab 1893 lautete der Name dann Tattersall Aktiengesellschaft zur Förderung der Pferdezucht und ab 1899 Budapesti Tattersall Aktiengesellschaft. Noch heute besteht der Tattersall an seiner originären Stelle. Nach ei- ner Umgestaltung finden seit 2018 in der Nationalen Reithalle wieder internationale Reitveranstaltungen (CSIO5 Grand Pix) statt. Mindestgebot: 900 €
