The company, which produced beaver hats, was founded in 1776. It was subsidised by the Brittany government. The factory was in Ren- nes, rue Hue. When it was founded, 400 shares with a nominal value of 300 livres each were issued, bringing the company’s capital to 120,000 livres. The director of the company was Nicolas François Isaac Antheaume. In 1780 he made a seamless beaver suit for His Ma- jesty.
