Seller’s single Share, R12! The company was founded by Emil Rathenau under the name Deutsche Edison-Gesellschaft für angewandte Elektricität in 1883. Rathe- nau learned about the revolutionary inventions of Thomas Alva Edion at the World Exposition in Philadelphia. He acquired the patents for Germany. The company was renamed in Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft in 1887. The company was one of the leading electric and electronic companies of the world at its best times. It went bankrupt in 1982. Daimler-Benz took over the company in 1985, and dis- solved it in 1996. The three letters of the name AEG stood for “Aus Erfahrung Gut” (good through experience), but after die flop with Daimler-Benz it got a new meaning: “Ans Ende Gelangt” (reached the end). Dieser lernte beim Besuch der Weltausstellung in Philadel- phia die wegweisenden Erfindungen von Thomas A. Edison kennen. Es gelang ihm, die Patente für Deutschland zu erwerben. 1887 erfolgte die Umfirmierung in Allgemeine Elektrizitäts-Gesellschaft. Zu ihrer Blütezeit war die AEG einer der weltgrößten Elektro- konzerne. 1982 musste die Gesellschaft Insolvenz anmelden. 1985 übernahm Daimler die Gesellschaft und löste sie 1996 auf. Stand AEG früher noch für „Aus Erfahrung Gut“, so spottete man nach dem Daimler-Flopp nur noch „Ans Ende Gelangt“.
