51 Ulrich Drumm, Jahrgang 1943, begann seine berufliche Lauf- bahn nach dem Universitätsabschluss als Diplom-Volkswirt bei der Berliner Handelsgesellschaft (heute BHF-Bank AG), die bis 1914 eine der aktivsten Banken bei der Begebung Russischer Eisen- bahnanleihen war. Es war naheliegend, dass das Thema der geplanten Dissertation „Die Finanzierung Russischer Eisenbahnen durch auslän- disches Kapital bis 1914“ lautete. So waren die alten russischen Eisen- bahnanleihen ab 1970 eine der wichtigen Quellen. Und nun begann das aktive Sammeln Historischer Wertpapiere.1974 lernte er Alfons W. Henseler kennen und die „Freunde Historischer Wertpapiere“ wurden gegründet. Ihre Aktivitäten umfassten erste Kataloge für Historische Wertpapiere, die „Zeitung für Historische Wertpapiere“ und sehr er- folgreiche Auktionen. 1975: Band 1:Russische Eisenbahn-Obligationen 1859 - 1914 1976: Band 2: Chinesische Aktien und Anleihen 1979: 2. The Berliner Handelsgesellschaft was one of the most active issuer of Russian railway bonds until 1914. Therefore he planned a dissertation with the title: “The financing of Russian railways with foreign capital until 1914”. The old Russian railway bonds were one of the most important sources for this project from 1970 onwards. At this point, he collected Scripo- phily actively. Ulrich Drumm became acquainted with Alfons W. Henseler in 1974. Together they founded „Freunde Historischer Wert- papiere“.
