	Die Gesellschaft entstand 1903 aus dem Zusammenschluss der Firma Chemische Fabriken in Farben und Firnissen Christoph Schramm (gegründet 1810) und der Firma Schramm & Hörner GmbH (gegründet 1863). 1924 kam es zur Umfirmierung in Schramm & Megerle, Lack & Farbenindustrie AG und zwei Jahre später in Schramm Lack- & Farbenfabriken AG. 1977 Umfirmierung in Schramm AG. Ein Jahr später wurde die 100-prozentige Tochter Reichhold Chemie GmbH auf die Mutter verschmolzen. Gleichzeitig kam es zur Umfirmierung in Reichhold Chemie AG.
