Die Blaydon, Gateshead & Hebburn Rail Way Company wurde aufgrund eines Parlamentsakts von 1834 errichtet. Sie sollte eine östliche Nebenli-
nie zur Hauptstrecke Newcastle - Carlisle mit einemAnschluss an die Stadt Blaydon bauen. Von den insgesamt geplanten 10,5 Meilen der Strecke
wurden allerdings nur 1,75 Meilen zwischen den Flüssen Derwent und Team gebaut, um Kohle von den Gruben bei Blaydon bis zu den Häfen am
Fluss Tyne zu befördern. Die kurze Strecke wurde bereits 1836 von der Newcastle & Carlisle Railway erworben, deren gesamtes Streckennetz
1862 wiederum ein Teil der North Eastern Railway wurde.

in England“. Rarity from an old collection!
The Blaydon, Gateshead & Heburn Rail Way Company was incorporated by an Act of Parliament of 1834. It was planned to build an Eastern
branch line to the main line Newcastle – Carlisle with connection of the city of Blaydon. Of the planned 10.5 miles of railway track only 1.75 miles
were built finally. It was the part between the Rivers Derwent and Team. This part was necessary to transport the coal of the mines at Blaydon to
the ports at the River Tyne. The short railway was taken over by the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway already in 1836. The North Eastern Railway
took over the total railway track of the Newcastle & Carlisle Railway in 1862.
