Die Bergwerksgesellschaft wurde am 27.12.1855 von Sir Harrison, ehemaliger Sekretär der Indian Steam Navigation Co. gegründet. Im Damoodah Valley hatte die Gesellschaft große Kohlefelder. Der scharfe Wettbewerb durch die Bengal Coal Company zwang das Unternehmen 1866 zur Aufgabe. |

The mining company was founded on 27 December 1855 by Sir Harrison, a former secretary of the Indian Steam Navigation Co. The company owned large beds of coal. Because of the heavy competition by the Bengal Coal Company the East India Coal Company failed in 1866. |
