Die Bowes-Familie waren bedeutende Landbesitzer und Industrielle im Norden Englands. Ab 1310 hatten sie ihren Familiensitz in Streatlam Castle in der Nähe der Stadt Barnard Castle im nordenglischen County Durham. Es ging später auf die Bowes-Lyon-Familie über, wurde 1959 aber zerstört. Heute existieren nur noch Streatlam Park und die Eingangsgebäude.
The Bowes family were major landowners and industrialists in the North of England. Since about 1310, the family seat was Streatlam Castle, located near the town of Barnard Castle in County Durham, England. Later it was owned by the Bowes-Lyon family, but was demolished in 1959. Today, only Streatlam Park and its entrance lodges remain.
