	Die Wurzeln der Gesellschaft liegen in der 1905 gegründeten offenen Handelsgesellschaft Axer & Hoven. 1919 fusionierte diese mit Alltrans AG für alle Transporte. 1925 wurde die Ursprungsfirma als NESKA Niederländisches Schiffahrtskontor Köln GmbH ausgegliedert. Diese ging 1932 in einer neu gegründeten Aktiengesellschaft gleichen Namens auf. Ab 1968 lautete die Firma dann «NESKA» Schiffahrts- und Speditionskontor AG.
