	Die Gesellschaft entstand 1950 aus der Fusion der OLEX und der Eurotank. Sie firmierte als GmbH. Erst im Juni 1957 erfolgte die Umwandlung in eine AG. Bereits zu diesem Zeitpunkt setzte die Gesellschaft mehr als eine Milliarde DM um und verfügte über ein Netz von fast 3.000 Tankstellen. Später kam es zur Umfirmierung in Deutsche BP AG, die zum Ölgiganten British Petroleum gehört.
