| Die Bank wurde Ende 1838 mit einem Kapital von zwei Millionen US-Dollar gegründet. Sie unterstützte Bauern und Pflanzer indem sie ihnen staatlich besicherte Kredite verschaffte. Die Politiker in den Aufsichtsgremien kamen ihren Aufsichtspflichten allerdings nicht nach, so dass es aufgrund des schlechten Managements sowie aufgrund von Betrug zu einer großen Wirtschaftskrise kam. | The bank was founded with a US-$ 2 million in capital in the year 1838. It was established to help planters and farmers by providing them with a pool of state-secured credit. State government officials provided almost no oversight of the Real Estate Bank of the State of Arkansas, and it quickly succumbed from inadequate management, fraud, and a national economic panic.
