John Campbell Miles discovered next to Mount Isa (Australia) silver and lead in 1923. He named the place according to his sister Isabella Mount Isa. Four years later Mount Isa Mines Limited built a city at this place. In 1931 they started mining silver and lead. In 1942 the company found copper at Mount Isa. And later they discovered a Silver-Lead-Tin-Mine. Today Mount Isa is the third largest city of Australia in terms of area scale.
